I've been in Paris now for 3 weeks. Crazy. I'm trying to figure out how the time has passed so quickly. This experience is different than I thought it would be. Living in a place is so very different than visiting it. It feels scary at times and I wonder how I got here. I spend time thinking about the series of events, and conversations and miracles that took place to get me here and I sit in awe. It's sort of incredible. It's a dream fulfilled and I can't believe it's my life.
Paris has my heart. I've seen the good and the bad. And yet still I find myself more in love with it today than I was yesterday.

Picnicking with my favorite people in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower makes for a pretty special afternoon.

Last Saturday my mom and sister flew to London to meet me and my friend for a little weekend escape from Paris. After our time in London we hopped on the Train and spent 6 more days in Paris experiencing the city together. I got to act as a tour guide of sorts showing off my favorite bakeries, neighborhoods and shopping spots. It was a wonderful trip with family and I'm so glad they came to visit. We took close to 4,000 pictures while they were here...so I sort of have a lot of blogging to get to! Here's London:
We arrived at St. Pancreas station early Saturday morning.
Breakfast was perfect at Milk Bar:
Later that night we had a fun night on the town munching on British grub and spending the evening listening to one of our favorite musicals with the cutest British accents. Wicket in London's West End was supurb! Plus I got to wear my favorite new dress...
My cute sister:
We chose the Cheshire Cheese Pub for dinner to try the famous Fish and Chips.
Mom, me, Jessi
The next day things went full on tourist mode when we signed up for a hop on hop off bus tour.
Snacks were limited to only authentic British grub, short bread cookies were the buttery best.
Westminster Abby was breathtakingly beautiful.
It turns out Big Ben really is pretty big and is actually the name of the bell inside of the clock tower, and not actually the clock.
Buckingham Palace was pretty.
I discovered the amazingness of the Picadilly whip, I still don't know exactly what it was but it tasted like frozen marshmallow fluff.
I loved it. Obviously.
The London bridge was a huge let down *wah, wah, wah* but the tower bridge was pretty great!
My cute momma I'm s glad she flew all this way to see me.
I was pretty excited to try sticky toffee pudding and unfortunately it just tasted like a giant cakey date. Bummer. I'll stick with the picadilly whips.
Shakespeares Globe was so cool! They were in the middle of setting up for a play that was happening that night - it was fun to see the process of set up.
London was lovely. It has such a different vibe than Paris. Possibly my favorite part about London was the fact that I could understand people. The french language barrier is getting a little old. So being in England was a nice change, a relief even.
We stayed in Soho a fun hustle and bustle part of the city - very centrally located to lots of shopping and dining options. For my time here in Europe I have exclusively used AirBNB for all of my lodging needs in the cities I'll be in (London, Rome, Barcelona). It's the most amazing website for traveling. It's basically all apartments or houses that you stay in wherever you go. And the price comparison to hotels is a lot more reasonable and you can stay in cooler areas because you're paying less. So next time you're planning a getaway look on AirBNB before you book a hotel it will likely be worth your while. If you have any questions regarding apartment stays in Europe email me I'd be happy to walk you through my experience.
I'll be back in London next month for a few days, and seriously can't wait to get back there to see more.
